FGL Trees

FGL Trees held a community planting event back in November, creating a new wooded area to the rear of Allen Water Drive next to the railway bridge. This site has now been mulched and some native bluebells have also been added by Fordingbridge Town Council. We look forward to seeing these young trees establish over the coming months.

Thank you to our team of ‘Ridan Rangers’ who visit the Ridan on a daily basis for maintenance and Dibden joinery for donating their waste sawdust. Our first batch of compost was ready  in December 2021 & our next batch is imminent! We have just ordered our 3rd maturation bin to keep up with demand.

Recycling Shed

The community recycling shed is located at the side of St.Mary’s Church Hall in Church Street. You can drop off items at our shed that cannot be easily recycled through curb side collections.
Including aluminium foil, bras, biscuit wrappers, bread bags, candles, confectionary wrappers, corks, stamps, inkjet printer cartridges and many other items! We have a wonderful team of volunteers who each take responsibility for a box. You can really help us by making sure you are only dropping off the right things!

Community Fridge

The fridge and freezer are located at Fordingbridge Library. We have a team of volunteers who take it in turn to collect food from Fordingbridge Coop. We are happy to report that we are back up and running in February. The food is there for anybody who might be findings things a little difficult and who need a bit of a helping hand. All we ask is that people only take what they need and leave items for the next person. Opening times: Tues/weds/Fri/Sat: 930am-5pm

Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme

For the past two years we have been collecting crisp packets and sending them for recycling. The Gourmet Grocer kindly offered to be a drop off point and we have an enthusiastic team of volunteers who sort all of the packets. Walkers have decided to stop sponsoring this service as so many supermarkets now have scrunchy plastic drop-off points. Therefore, the last day for crisp packets to be dropped off will be Saturday 18th April. Coop Fordingbridge now has scrunchy plastic drop off point.
