Our plan is to plant approximately 150 whips (small trees) donated by the Woodland Trust, to naturalise and fill gaps left after the removal of dead Ash trees within the wooded area along Falconwood. In addition, we shall also be creating a new wooded area, as show on the map. This will help blend the tree line between the green space at the rear of Allen Water Drive and Falconwood. The trees being planted are the same native species used successfully at the tiny forest site at Parsonage Park in February/March this year.

Tree species are as follows: Wild Cherry, Rowan, Birch, Hawthorn, Dogwood, Hazel.

We shall be meeting next to the old railway bridge on Marl Lane, adjacent to Falconwood (the green space behind Allen Water Drive).

We require a few more volunteers to assist with running this event and are keen to have some photographs taken. If you are able to spare an hour or two to help out, please let us know.
